Just the books my kids needed…

As a mother, I am very selective about the quality of books my children read. As a parent of two boys, I want my kids to read about what they love: hunting! That is how we grow readers! As a Dyslexia Coach, I look for interesting books with great storylines that motivate my students to read. As a Christian parent, I try to fill my children’s library with realistic books that include respect and love for God.

Lastly, as a parent to a child recently diagnosed with Alpha Gal Syndrome, there was one particular book that really made a difference to my son: Talking Turkey. With AG, there is a severe allergy to mammal meat. He is now unable to safely touch mammals while hunting or eat their meat. This is a dramatic change for our family. Finally, we found a book about hunting turkeys. (We can hunt and eat birds and fish.) I cannot explain how much it meant to my child to finally read a book about what he can hunt. I pray that God leads other families with AG who enjoy hunting to these books and hope that Jimmy will publish more fishing and bird hunting books soon as well.)

The Hunt Club Series books truly meets my children’s needs and I feel confident as a parent about what my children are reading.
I have e-mailed the author before and was so touched by his response and care. He is a blessing in our life. I highly recommend his books and we are eager for the next one.
